The Honor Wall at The Wendall H. Gilbert Veterans’ Home

The Challenge … To design 30 feet of blank wall with a collage of military events that captures the glory, the sacrifice and the unparalleled valor of the Veterans who served their county so valiantly.

The Concept … A tribute to the courage & bravery and soaring spirit of those in uniform.  A tribute that honors the frontier Minutemen as well as, the fallen heroes of Afghanistan and the Middle East.

The Creation … A mural that begins with our fight for freedom and ends with our ongoing fight to keep it.  In the process the research required created four volumes of historic data that spanned over three centuries of that fight.

The Result … a wall that attracts visitors, residents and staff alike to relive our fight for freedom, often through the first-hand accounts of the veterans who visit and call the new facility “home.”
