The re-creation of a historic landmark into a twenty-first century hotel was a challenge for the Carnegie Hotel project. The original Carnegie burned in 1905, fifteen years after its opening. The renaissance of the hotel which borrows only the name and period in history, adjoins Millennium Park near the campus of East Tennessee State University (ETSU), requiring a more opulent and a technology integrated facility. The Vision Group was responsible for carrying the design concept to reality in all finish and material selections, furnishings and decor. The boutique hotel showcases a collection of 17th and early 18th century antiques found in numerous auction houses and galleries. The spectacular ballroom came to our team as a shell, with the only requirement to use the three vintage alabaster light fixtures. The photo of the ballroom shows the oval coffers, their form reflected in the use of oval column covers treated in a faux marble
